Our Class 4 camp to Birrigai was a fun, hands-on adventure full of new experiences. The children slept in dorm cabins, cooked their own damper over the fire, and explored Ngunnawal Country on bushwalks, spotting local plants and even Maliyan (the Ngunnawal word for wedge-tailed eagle) soaring overhead. Team games and obstacle courses brought everyone closer together, and the crate climb was a big highlight as many stepped outside their comfort zones. It’s no surprise that Birrigai means “laughter” in the Ngunnawal language. There was plenty of it on camp!
