A Gentle Beginning

Orana Steiner School's Playgroup offers a welcoming space where young children and their parent or caregiver can connect, play and experience the warmth of our school community.

In the early years, the foundations for lifelong learning are nurtured through warmth, rhythm and meaningful relationships. Our Playgroup invites families to share in this experience, fostering a sense of connection, wonder and belonging within the Orana community.

Please note: Playgroup is a screen-free environment.

What to Expect

Each Playgroup session follows a gentle rhythm designed to support young children's development while creating meaningful opportunities for families to connect.

Guided by the principles of Steiner education, Playgroup provides a calm, nurturing environment where children can explore through imaginative play, songs, stories, seasonal activities and meaningful everyday experiences. It is also an opportunity for families to build friendships, learn more about Steiner education and become familiar with the rhythms of life at Orana.

Activities may include:

• Free indoor and outdoor play
• Songs and circle time
• Bread making
• Storytelling
• Seasonal craft activities
• Shared morning tea and conversation
• Opportunities for parents and caregivers to connect

Whether you are considering future enrolment or simply looking for a welcoming community for your young child, we invite you to join us.

Session Information

Age
Children aged 18 months to 3 years, accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Session Times
Monday to Friday, 9:15am – 11:45am

Term Program
Playgroup operates during the school term, with one session per child each week on your nominated day. Families enrol for the full term, providing consistency and a familiar rhythm for young children. As families enrol for a specific weekly session, missed sessions cannot be transferred or swapped.

Fees

• $300 per term (one adult and one child)
• Additional child: $150 per term
• Maximum of two children per adult

Join Our Playgroup

Playgroup places are limited and often fill quickly. If a session is at capacity, families are welcome to join the waiting list. To enquire about availability or register your interest, please email admissions@oranaschool.com.
