Orana Steiner School is an independent, co-educational and non-denominational school governed by the Board of the Canberra Rudolf Steiner School Association Incorporated.
The Board provides strategic leadership and oversight, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the School while supporting its vision, values and commitment to delivering a high-quality education.
Working in partnership with the Principal and Executive Leadership Team, the Board is responsible for:
- Strategic planning
- Financial stewardship
- Governance and risk management
- Policy oversight
- Regulatory compliance
- Long-term sustainability
The Board governs the School but does not oversee its day-to-day operations. Responsibility for the management of the School, educational leadership, staff, curriculum and student matters rests with the Principal and Executive Leadership Team.

The Board is supported by a Finance Committee, which assists in fulfilling its financial governance responsibilities.
The Board of Directors is elected by members of the Canberra Rudolf Steiner School Association Incorporated. Directors are elected for two-year terms, with elections held at the Annual General Meeting each May.
