Happy 45th Birthday Orana!
On Thursday 27 August, Orana Steiner School celebrated 45 years of education.
A school’s story is not simply held in its buildings or recorded in its milestones. It lives in the people who have shaped it, the children who have grown through its classrooms and gardens, the teachers who have carried its educational work forward, and the families who have contributed to the life of the community across generations.
This milestone gave us an opportunity to pause and reflect on the many generations who have contributed to the school we know today. From our earliest students and teachers to the children, families and staff who make up Orana today, each has become part of the continuing story of our school.
We were particularly touched by the wonderful response to a recent social media post celebrating Orana’s 45th birthday. A flood of heartfelt messages came from past and present families, alumni, staff and friends of the school, sharing memories, gratitude and reflections on their own experiences at Orana.

Reading these messages was a beautiful reminder that the life of a school extends far beyond the years a child spends within its classrooms. The relationships formed, experiences shared and values nurtured can continue to resonate long after students have graduated.
As we celebrate 45 years, we are grateful for the many people who have contributed and helped shape Orana across the decades.
Thank you to all our past and present students, families, teachers, staff and wider community for being part of Orana’s journey.
