A Message from our Principal, James Goodlet - Term 4 Week 3

Yuma Orana Community, 

Together we grow.

The wishes of the soul are springing 

The deeds of the will are thriving 

The fruits of life are maturing 

I feel my destiny 

My destiny finds me 

I feel my star 

My star finds me 

I feel my goals in life 

My goals in life are finding me 

My soul and the great world are one 

Life grows more radiant about me 

Life grows more challenging for me 

Life grows more abundant within me. 

We have had a cracking start to the term with the usual buzz of classroom learning activities, camps, parent meetings and preparation for Spring Fair.  

Thank you to those parents who attended our start-of-term cuppa at the school canteen on the first morning of term and thanks to Murray for supplying the coffees. We talked about what was coming up in the term, ways parents can get involved in the school and addressed questions. It was a good opportunity to make connections with other parents and a warm welcome for new parents. We will be welcoming each term in the same fashion. Hope to see you there on the morning of Term 1 2027. 

In the spirit of curiosity and kindness, we are wanting to provide opportunities for our community to connect, share and celebrate. Spring Fair will be our next big opportunity and after that we have other events where all are welcome. The secondary drama production ‘Treasure Island’ will on the evenings of Wednesday 11 and Friday 13 November.  The Year 12 projects will be on Friday 20 (evening), Saturday 21 (daytime), Sunday 22 (daytime) November. Further details can be found via the website under ‘Events’. These events are usually very well attended by families of those involved, but they are also open to everyone. They are not only entertaining but for those with younger children, are a valuable insight into what is to come. We are so fortunate to have an enthusiastic student body and staff who support these initiatives.  

Thanks to the P&F team for organising Spring Fair and thanks to parents, friends, staff and students for helping in the lead up. We hope to see everyone in our community and many visitors at the on Sunday. I look for to seeing you there and celebrating 45 years of Orana.
