Craft Group

Every Friday morning from 9:00am to 12:30pm, we meet in the new Preschool room (please ask at the Front Office for directions) and enjoy a morning of coffee and cake, while creating marvellous items in the Steiner tradition.

Children are always welcome, and enjoy playing in the garden and sandpit, or making felt scrap masterpieces under the tables while we work and chat. And no need to worry if you are all thumbs – there re always plenty of helpers to support you and teach you the tricks that make the craft come together.

We’ve got lots of projects to work on, so if you are an old hand at craft, or if you have never tried DIY Steiner, come and join us – there is no nicer way to earn your community hours than filling the Craft Group stall at the Spring Fair.

Contact [email protected] if you want to join our mailing list, or just drop in one morning for a warm welcome.

Term 4 2018

It feels like Spring Fair is almost upon us, but there’s still crafting going on – in the lead up to the Fair and in the aftermath.  We look forward to learning some new skills in the course of the first couple of weeks of term when we’ll be working on wood and wire dolls and making macramé candle holders.

If you’ve been making things at home for us, please return them in the first two weeks of term.  The wonderful team in the Front Office will generously store things for us if you can’t make it into CG on a Friday (though we would also love to thank you in person for your efforts).

Our CG Pinterest page has some lovely examples of what we make for the Fair so have a look at https://au.pinterest.com/bluecardy/orana-craft-group-ideas/ and start making out your wish list for Fair Day.

The week after the Spring Fair (on Friday 9th November) we have the CG Scavenge – while we enjoy our morning tea from 9 to 12.30, anything which didn’t sell at the Fair is available to purchase (cash only!) at Craft Group.  So if you missed out because you were away on the day or doing double duty on the BBQ, this is a great opportunity to find a fantastic gift or treasure.  It’s not a day that counts towards your community hours, but a chance to celebrate a great year of crafting and (hopefully) a successful Spring Fair stall.

And for the rest of the term, we get a head start on 2019 goodies and do some fixing-up of the Kindy and Preschool toys if any of them have been loved too much.

Don’t forget to log your CG hours on the school website by 20 November!

So drop in one Friday and find out for yourselves how much fun Craft Group can be.

See you soon!
