A non-refundable registration fee of $100 per family is payable to register a child on the waiting list.
A non-refundable enrolment fee of $300 per family is payable once a student is accepted by the school. Please note this fee is payable before the student commences at Orana School .
Fees are $24 per session. There are a minimum attendance of 2 sessions per week. A full day constitutes two (2) sessions.
For example, if a child attends two (2) SKG sessions per week over a 10 week term the charge is $480.00 regardless of public holidays. Please note that sessional kindergarten fees cannot exceed kindergarten fees. Accordingly SKG fees will be capped at $823.00 per term.
The tuition fees include the cost of class stationery and supplies, art and craft supplies, woodwork, music, some physical education activities and some performances/concerts.

Please note that for most classes there are additional charges (camps/excursions etc) that are added to school fee accounts each term.
From Class 3 to Year 11 there are compulsory class camps, which vary in cost. A “camp deposit” - being less than the anticipated full amount for each student – is applied to Terms 1 and 2 fee accounts. The balance of the actual camp cost is applied to Term 3 or 4 fee accounts.

Some educational items are not covered by the school fees described above. Examples include Class 1 recorders, Class 3 violin hire, Class 5 fountain pens, Year 8 calculators and recreational excursions such as Ski Trip and Surf Camp. From Class 6 upwards a textbook fee applies. New students entering Class 3 and above may be required to attend catch-up lessons in language, music and/or handwork at a cost to parents. These items will always be itemised on statements.
Please note that a $400 withdrawal fee will apply for each student where one term’s notice of withdrawal is not received in writing. A $40 fee will apply to a dishonoured cheque. A $40 fee will also apply to a Direct Debit Request that is returned unpaid or declined. Late payment fees will apply immediately to overdue school fee accounts.
We ask each family to budget for a Building Fund donation of $400 per year or $100 per term. Amounts above this are of course welcome, and regular payment of smaller donations can also be made, including by direct debit. Donations to the Orana Building Fund are tax deductible.
We ask all families to work 30 Community Commitment hours per year to help maintain and support the school. Alternatively, families may opt to pay a Community Commitment fee of $600 per year, payable by the middle of each year.
If you have a child in sessional kindergarten only, or if you are a sole fee paying parent, the commitment is 15 hours or $300 per year. Full details are set out in the Community Hours Information Booklet available from the school office, or on our Community Hours page .
Orana has three payment options for school fees. These are:
Payment of school fees and incidentals (for example, camp or excursion fees) in full at the start of each term. From the school’s perspective this is the preferred option.
Payment of school fees in advance for the year. A 5% discount on the tuition fee portion applies to this payment option.
Direct Debit from your bank account fortnightly or monthly. Please enquire at the school office for more details about any of the above options.
Please note that Orana has a written Fee Payment Policy covering the above options in detail and also setting out our policies for late payment of school fees and other matters. As parents commit to these policies as part of the enrolment process, we encourage parents to read the Fee Payment Policy document. Copies are available from the school office on request at any time.
