The Pre-school program is two full days per week. However, children may attend more than two days per week. The cost per term for the two day program is $1,112, with extra days incurring an additional cost of $284 per term if there are no other siblings enrolled. ![]() School Fees for 2012
The tuition fees include the cost of class stationery and supplies, art and craft supplies, woodwork, music, some physical education activities, some performances/concerts and a compulsory levy for camps.
Compulsory Maintenance Levy
This is not included in the fee schedule (above). Each family also pays $196 per term as part of their compulsory fees to support both new buildings and maintenance of existing buildings. This levy does not apply for families with a child in Pre-school for only 2 days per week. The Maintenance Levy is separate to our voluntary Building Fund. Additional Expenses
Some educational items are not covered by the School Fees described above. Examples include Class 1 recorders, Class 3 violin hire, Class 5 fountain pens, Class 8 calculators, dictionaries and recreational excursions. From Class 6 upwards a textbook fee applies. New students entering Class 3 and above may be required to attend catch-up lessons in language, music and/or handwork at a cost to parents. These items will always be itemised on statements. Building Fund
We ask each family to budget for a Building Fund donation of $400 per year or $100 per term. Amounts above this are of course welcome, and regular payment of smaller donations can also be made, including by direct debit. Donations to the Orana Building Fund are tax deductible. Community Hours
We ask all families to work 30 Community Hours per year to help maintain and support the school and to build a sense of community at Orana. There is a variety of ways to give your hours such as gardening, cleaning or working in the library. Alternatively, families may opt to pay a Community Hours Fee of $600 per year.
If you have a child in Pre-school only, or if you are a sole fee paying parent, the commitment is 15 hours or $300 per year. Full details are set out in the Community Hours Information Booklet available from the School Office. | ||||||
