School Tours are conducted regularly during term time, giving parents of prospective students an introduction to Steiner Education and an opportunity to speak to teachers, look around our facilities and ask questions.
School Tours are an essential element of the enrolment process and bookings can be made through the School Office (02 6288 4283). Fees and ChargesRegistration Fee
A non-refundable Registration Fee of $100 per family is payable to register your children on the waiting list. Enrolment Fee
A non-refundable Enrolment Fee of $300 per family is payable once a student is accepted by the school. Please note this fee is payable before the student commences at Orana. School Fees for 2010Pre-SchoolThe Pre-School Program is two full days per week. However, children may attend more than two days per week. The cost per term for the two day program is $1,044. There will be no extra daily charge if children attend more than 2 days, however, the full amount of the Capital and Maintenance levies will apply. School FeesSchool fees include a component for tuition (Tuition), for resources (Resource Levy) such as the cost of class stationery and supplies, art and craft supplies, woodwork, music, some physical education activities and some performances/concerts and a levy for camps (Camp Levy). From Class 3 to Class 11 there are compulsory class camps, which vary in cost. A camp levy forms part of the School Fees per term – being less than the anticipated full amount for each student. The balance of the actual camp cost is applied to Term 3 or 4 fee accounts. 2010 Schedule of Tuition Fees Per Annum Additional charges for Resource, Maintenance, Capital Levy, musical instruments, calculators, camps etc apply. Maintenance LevyEach family also pays $184 per term as part of their compulsory fees to support maintenance of existing and new buildings. For families with a child in Pre-School only, this levy does not apply unless the child attends more than 2 days per week. The Maintenance Levy is separate to our voluntary Building Fund and is not tax deductible. Capital LevyEach family also pays $100 per term as part of their compulsory fees to support capital new buildings and grounds projects. Sibling DiscountsThe sibling discounts are applied only to the tuition component of the term fees. The sibling discount does not apply to Pre-School. Additional ExpensesSome educational items are not covered by the school fees described above. A list of regular, known additional expenses is outlined in the Schedule of Fees. Examples of other additional charges include recreational excursions, performances, sporting activities, language, music and/or handwork catch up lessons and other items that may occur during the term. These items will always be itemised on the Family Statements at the beginning of each term. Community Hours SchemeWe ask all families to work 30 Community Hours per year to help maintain and support the school. Alternatively, families may opt to pay a Community Hours fee of $600 per year, payable by the middle of each year. Families with children in Pre-School only are asked to contribute 15 Community Hours per year or pay a Community Hours fee of $300 per year. Full details are set out in the Community Hours Information Booklet available from the school office, or at our website www.oranaschool.com. Building FundWe ask each family to budget for a Building Fund donation of $400.00 per year or $100.00 per term. Amounts above this are of course welcome, and regular payment of smaller donations can also be made, including by direct debit. Orana has three payment options for School Fees. These are: ![]() Option 1
Payment of School Fees and incidentals (eg. camp/excursion fees) in full at the start of each term as per the Family Statement. We prefer payment by cheque, Visa, Mastercard or debit card. Option 2
Payment of School Fees in advance for the year. A 5% discount on the tuition fee portion applies to this payment option. Option 3
Direct Debit from your bank account fortnightly or monthly. Please enquire at the Finance Office for more details about any of the above options. Please note that Orana has a written Fee Payment Policy covering the above options in detail and also setting out our policies for late payment of school fees and other matters. As parents commit to these policies as part of the enrolment process, we encourage parents to read the Fee Payment Policy document. Copies are available from the School Office on request at any time.
