Well, PETT was formed some years ago to introduce parents and friends
of Orana to the fascinating and inspiring world of Steiner Education,
which we have done in the past through a great variety of workshops,
seminars and talks.
The journey of the parent of a child in a Steiner School can be a
personally enriching, exciting and sometimes challenging and puzzling
one. Yes, you can go and read all the books in the Parent Library but we
also hope that you will come along to some of our events as well. Many
parents in the past have found that the learnings they have taken away
with them have enabled them to feel more comfortable in supporting their
children on their journeys, and deepened their own appreciation of the
extraordinary benefits of a Steiner education.
During
the year PETT organises
workshops, talks and classes by local or visiting speakers on a variety of
topics. Topics have connection with the work of Rudolf Steiner, and particular
emphasis is placed on the development of the child and educational issues.
These activities are generally open to the wider public as well as the
school community. Ongoing artistic
workshops and study groups are also arranged from time to time. Details of activities are announced in the
paper school bulletin, the PETT webpage, or are
available from the school office. See below for the current programme.
